Planetariumsshow Unseen Earth

On 11 June 2025, the planetarium show ‘Unseen Earth – Observe, Understand, Respond’ premiered at the 10th Fulldome Festival in Brno and ranked 7th out of nearly 50 submissions. It is the result of an international project between five European space and planetarium institutions.

From the beginnings of Earth observation to the European Earth observation programme COPERNICUS – currently the most advanced Earth observation programme – the show vividly demonstrates the importance of observing the Earth from a distance. Using real satellite data and state-of-the-art visualisations, the 27-minute educational programme explores how satellite monitoring contributes to our understanding of the environment, supports disaster relief and provides information for sustainable development for the benefit of all European citizens.

By making the show available free of charge across Europe and beyond, the project ensures broad accessibility and promotes environmental literacy and digital skills in diverse communities. The production of the show was co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union (2023-1-CZ01-KA220-ADU-000160172).
